Up The Creek

"You'll be up the creek without a paddle"
My mother used to say to me;
Every time I tried to do something
She felt would be a castrophe.

When ever I hear that phrase
And other's that she'd say,
It takes me back in time.
Oh! How I wish she were here today.

I'd give anything
To hear my mother's voice again.
It used to make me giggle
To hear her little sayings
Way back when.

"Be careful, Girl...
One day you'll find yourself
Up the creek without a paddle"

There were times I came close...but
I never did find myself in that position,
But I know what I would do
If I was caught in that condition.

If I was up the creek without a paddle
I think I'd jump right in.
After all.... it's just a creek
And I know how to swim.
