Paradise and Hurricanes
Palm trees, blue skies
The ocean and sand.
Walking barefoot on a beach
With a lover, hand in hand.
Boating, fishing
Lying in the sun.
No worries, no cares,
A new life's begun.
Watching the surfers
As the waves come in.
Another day in paradise
As a new dawn begins.
But paradise can bring a heavy toll
Maybe not often but costly just the same.
It lurks far beyond the sea,
This monster called a hurricane.

It's a wild and treacherous storm
That swiftly passes through.
Leaving havoc in it's wake
And sometime killing too.
Like a thief in the night
It takes everything in it's path
Leaving destruction behind
As proof of it's wrath.
When it hits, all you can do
Is pick up the pieces, start over again.
And thank God you're alive
With your family and friends.
It has been said that
Paradise has a curse,
But those that love living there
Say...."It could've been worse"
