In Harms Way
Who are these heroes
That are in harms way?
We see them on TV
Each and every day.
They are male and female,
They're brave and bold.
They are adults and children
Too soon growing old.
They answered a call
Not once asking why.
They're fighting for freedom
To protect you and I.
They are sons and daughters,
Husbands and wives,
Mothers and fathers
Putting a hold on their lives.
Please show you support them
Send them nothing but love.
Please don't disgrace them
By holding anti-war signs above.
They tread in harms way
With hearts heavy and burdened.
Please... Let them know
From Vietnam we learned.
Whatever your politics
And your thoughts today
Please support our troops
And in your own way...
Please pray for their safety
That none will be harmed.
And soon they'll return
To America's arms.
