Lord God...

Make me an instrument of Your healing.

When I am weak and in pain, help me to rest.

When I am anxious, help me to wait.

When I am fearful, help me to trust.

When I am lonely, help me to love

And when I place You apart from me

Help me to know You are near.

Healing God...

Grant me not so much

To demand everything from myself

As to let others help me;

Not to expect others to cure me

As to do my own part toward getting better.

Grant me not so much to seek escape

As to face myself...

And learn the depths of Your love.

For it is in being uncertain and not in control

That we find true faith.

In knowing the limits of mind and spirit

And in passing through death

That we find life that lasts forever.

(based on the Power of St. Francis)

Give ear, O Eternal, to my prayer
Heed my plea for mercy.
When pain and fatigue are my companions
Let there be room in my heart for strength.
When days and nights are filled with darkness
Let the light of courage find it's place.
Help me to endure the suffering
And dissolve the fear.
Renew within me...
The calm spirit of trust and peace.

Psalm 86

Give me the strength
to meet each day with quiet will.

Give me faith to know
Thou art my Shepherd still.

Give me the light
to find my way when shadows fall.

Be Thou my steady guiding star
...Father of all.

May I seek to live this day quietly... easily
Leaning on Your mighty strength trustfully... restfully
Meeting others in the path peacefully... joyously
Waiting for Your will unfolding patiently... serenely
Facing what tomorrow brings...
Confidently....Courageously.
