Giving Thanks... 2001

I've been sitting here wondering
Just spending time, pondering
About Thanksgiving this year
And all those that are no longer here.



When I think about those we lost
And the heartache to their families it's cost
It's hard for me to comprehend
The joy in this holiday, my friend.



But there are things to be grateful for still
I'm thankful for the spirit terrorists couldn't kill
For the way our people pulled together
And letting them know we'll stay together forever.



I'm so thankful for the ones that I love,
Those here and those gone above.
New friends and old, who have come and gone
Friends who lost touch or just moved on.




I'm thankful for family and the love that they share
The words and the smiles and the way that they care.
Though part of our family's not here this year
In my heart... you're always with me here.



I'm so thankful to God for all that He's given
A family and love and a reason for living.
A nation of people in turmoil... staying strong
And giving us faith and strength to go on.



So this year I say with much sadness and love
I am thankful for my loved ones... here and above
And I wish one and all... family and friends too
May You Have A Blessed Thanksgiving...
I Thank God for this Country and YOU.
